Authors for Animals: ‘Sloth: What’s in a name?’

  • This event has passed.

Event Navigation

In celebration of National Poetry Day, members of Hubbub will appear at ZSL London Zoo as part of the Authors for Animals series. This event will takes place on a Saturday afternoon, starting with a tour of the Rainforest Enclosure with a ZSL mammals keeper. See if you can spot the sloths Leander and Marilyn. They’ll probably be doing what they do best – resting.

Poet Tamarin Norwood will give her take on sloths and English Literature Lecturer Dr Michael Greaney will ask, “Would you like to be described as a sloth?” and will discuss the history of the concept – in humans and animals. The ZSL keeper will answer all your questions about sloths. Are they really lazy or is that something of a myth? The event will be chaired by broadcaster and writer, Claudia Hammond.

Entrance via ZSL London Zoo Main Entrance at 4pm
